First, I should note that another GrokThis.net VPS server will be soon deployed. This server will be supporting HVM domains, so we will be offering a limited number of Windows, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD based VPS accounts. Windows VPS accounts will require an additional monthly fee of $20/mo for Windows Server 2003: Web Edition, or $30/mo for Windows Server 2003: Standard Edition. The additional fees will be accessed in order to recoup additional licensing and administration costs.
Last weekend, we upgraded all of the VPS Village servers and the GrokThis.net VPS002 server, adding more disks and memory. However, partitioning and migrating to those disks has NOT been completed, so there will be some further downtime to accomplish this.
We still have not completed the upgrades to Galadriel which have been much more troublesome than we originally anticipated. We are also planning major upgrades to our oldest server, Marley, to occur before month’s end – the Marley server will be likely moved into a virtual server, but we are considering this an upgrade as the available resources will be increasing despite being moved to a virtual platform.
Our GrokThis.net VPS servers vps003 through vps005 as well as Meriadoc.grokthis.net, are still scheduled for the first phase of disk, memory, and cpu upgrades.
