This program began in 1998, when I saw a need for a run dialog which would run Windows applications under linux using Wine. It sat tucked away in a box for a long time, due to the options available at the time.. it was written in Perl with the Xforms toolkit. In 1999, I had begun a gtk-perl port but suffered a horrible accident (harddrive failure) and gave up on the project. Then 2000 came, I had some free time and was bored of my other projects.. hence I rewrote it again. The code for the Xforms port is still there, but it would require a little bit of work to run; The GTK portion is quite stable, however.
What good is this program? It still runs Windows applications in Linux via a run menu, if you need a run-dialog then this could work; but it isn’t anything spectacular.
